Subject: Microsoft Word Toolbar Tip

ELM Computer Systems wishes you a safe and relaxing Canada Day.

Many users of Microsoft Word have experience the frustration of installing a program that enhances MS Word by placing additional items in its Menu Bar. Often, when the program is removed or deactivated, these menu items remain on the Menu Bar yet do not function. Do the following to remove a menu item that is no longer associated with any installed program (please note that the following steps may not apply to all versions of MS Word):
1/ Open Microsoft Word
2/ Right-click on any part of the Menu Bar
3/ On the list of toolbars that appears highlight "Menu Bar"
4/ Left-click on the "Reset" button on the right
5/ All inactive Menu Bar items should no longer appear (active Menu Bar items added by programs still in use may also have been removed and require re-installation, although this was not the case on my system when I tried this tip earlier today)
Our featured website for June hosts a handy anti-virus tool named Stinger.  Stinger is a small utility that can scan your system for a number of the latest and most dangerous viruses. Stinger does not prevent infection but removes viruses after an infection has taken place and so should be used in association with a full featured anti-virus package such as Norton Antivirus. The link appears below (the download is less than 1Mb):

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about this or any other issue.
