Subject: Virus Warning -
MYDOOM.O
For the past week the MYDOOM.O virus has
been circulating around the world via emails sent from infected computers.
For more information on this virus please visit the following website
(hosted by Symantec, developers of Norton Antivirus):
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.evaman.c@mm.html
Many virus bearing emails will appear to
have been sent by a trusted source (known as "spoofing") in order to trick
the recipient into opening the attachment and activating the virus. As a
general precaution do not open any email attachments unless you are
assured that they are legitimate. If in doubt contact ELM on how you can
use the "View Message Source" options in your email program to confirm the
validity of any questionable email.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have
any questions about this or any other issue.
If you have an associate who you think would also
appreciate receiving these bulletins please let me know (with their
approval) and I will add them to the bulletin mailing list. Please feel
free to forward these bulletins to anyone you wish. If you no longer wish
to receive these bulletins, or if you received this bulletin by mistake
please send me an email with "Please remove me" in the subject line and I
will take your name off of the bulletin mailing list.
