Data Integrity
In several of our ELM Bulletins we discuss the importance using regular backups in order to ensure data permanence. There are, however, other threats to your data beyond simply losing it. The most worrisome of these threats is unapproved use of your data by an unauthorized outside party (or a disgruntled inside party).
Here at ELM Computer Systems we value your data almost as highly as you do. To that end we take every opportunity to ensure that your data is protected from loss, by creating and testing a scheduled backup system, and from theft, by hardening the perimeter of your network.
Hardening the perimeter of your network simply means that all access to your network from outside the walls of your office is controlled by multiple levels of protection. These levels include, but are not limited to, software and hardware firewalls, user account control and enhanced security policies.
